What data the app uses

Only while a ride is being recorded: precise location (position, speed and heading from GPS) and the phone's motion sensors (gyroscope and accelerometer). From these the app computes the lean angle. The calibration of the phone mount and your settings are stored too. The app does not use your name, contacts, account or any identifiers.

Where it is stored

Rides are stored only in the app's private database on your phone. The app has no internet permission, so it cannot send your rides anywhere. The only exchange outside the app is the optional Pro purchase, handled by the Google Play Store app (see Purchases). There are no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no user accounts.

If you have Android backup or device-to-device transfer turned on, Android may include the app's data in that backup (for example in your Google account). This is controlled by the system settings, not by the app.

A ride backup you create in Settings is a single file in CornerLog's own format. It is saved only where you choose (for example your Google Drive or computer), and from then on it is under your control, like an export.

Sharing

Data is never shared with anyone. It leaves the app only when you export a ride to CSV or GPX yourself; the file is saved where you choose and from then on it is under your control.

Purchases (CornerLog Pro)

CornerLog Pro is bought through Google Play, under Google's terms and privacy policy. Payment is handled entirely by Google; the app never sees your payment details or Google account. The app only asks the Google Play Store app on your phone whether Pro has been purchased and confirms new purchases to it. Your rides and location are never part of this. There is no CornerLog server.

Permissions

• Precise location: speed and turning rate for the lean angle and the ride track.
• Foreground service and notifications: so recording keeps running with the screen off and you can stop it from the notification.
• Wake lock: keeps sensors running during a ride.
• Network state: requested by the Google Play Billing library; it only shows whether a network exists. The app has no internet access.

Location is used only while you are recording a ride, never in the background otherwise.

Ride Viewer (website)

The Ride Viewer on this website reads an exported file in your browser; the file is never uploaded. To draw the map, your browser downloads map tiles from OpenStreetMap, which therefore sees which map area is displayed (OSMF privacy policy). The map library is loaded from unpkg.com. This website has no analytics and no cookies.

Deleting your data

Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in the system settings, permanently deletes all rides, calibration and settings.
